Our well supported first summer outing was to the well preserved Thorrington Tide Mill on 6th July, where we were joined by some friends from the Harwich and Dovercourt Camera Club.
Two of the volunteers from the preservation group opened up the mill and give us a very interesting guided tour. Although the mill is no longer working, the massive timber engineering proved a good subject and no doubt we shall be seeing some of these shots in next season’s competitions.
The weather was fairly overcast, so no sunset to photograph on this occasion, and the lighting was generally very flat.
Light rain eventually brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
Our next trip is to The Quarters in Alresford.
